Honey Buttermilk Bread Recipe

Ingredients
1 tablespoon/packet yeast I usually use 1 because I buy in bulk.
1 pinch powdered ginger
1 teaspoon sugar
1/4 cup warm water 105F
2 cups warm buttermilk 105F
1/3 cup honey
1 teaspoon kosher salt
3/4 teaspoon baking soda
6 cups white bread flour divided use
1/4 cup unsalted butter melted and cooled so that it is warm to the touch but not hot. Instructions
In a medium sized bowl mix the yeast, ginger, sugar, and warm water.
Set aside for 5 minutes or until foamy.
Whisk the buttermilk, honey, salt, and baking soda together and add it to the yeast mixture.
Add three cups of flour and mix until smooth, about 3 to 5 minutes on low of a stand mixer.
Pour in the butter until it is totally mixed into the batter.
Add the rest of the flour, one cup at a time, keeping mixer on low speed.
When dough pulls from the sides of the bowl remove it from the mixer to a lightly floured surface. Knead until elastic and smooth.

EASY CROCK POT ORANGE CHICKEN

INGREDIENTS :
4 boneless skinless chicken breasts
¾ cup orange marmalade
¾ cup BBQ sauce
2 tablespoons soy sauce
DIRECTIONS :
Season chicken breasts with salt and pepper, and cook in crockpot on high for 3 hours or low for 6 hours.
After 3 hours on high or 6 hours on low, drain juices from crockpot.
At this point you can either leave the chicken breasts whole, or remove, cut into cubes, and transfer back to crockpot.
Mix together BBQ sauce, orange marmalade, and soy sauce.
Pour mixture over chicken, and cook on high for 30 more minutes.
Serve with rice.

Ingredients 1- 3oz. pkg. cream cheese, softened
1 stick of margarine or butter, softened
1 C. flour
Dash of salt
Blend together cream cheese, margarine, flour and salt. Shape into 24 balls; press each ball into 1 3/4? muffin tins (press dough in bottom and sides with fingers, do not leave any holes).
Filling: 2 eggs, beaten
1 C. brown sugar
2 T. margarine or butter, melted
1 tsp. vanilla
Dash of salt
1 C. pecans, chopped How to make it : Combine eggs, brown sugar, margarine, vanilla, and salt. Mix well (do not beat with beater, or tops will be crusty instead of a nutty one). Divide pecans evenly in pastry shells. Pour filling in shells, filling 2/3 full. Bake at 350 degrees for 20-25 minutes. Cool slightly before removing from pans. Cool on wire rack. Ingredients: 1 qt warm water 1 cup sugar 1 cup powdered milk 1 cup oil 1 Tbs salt 2 pkgs yeast 7-9 cups All purpose flour Instructions: Combine water, yeast, and sugar to dissolve yeast. In a separate bowl combine milk, salt, and about 5 cups of flour. When yeast dissolves add the oil and pour into the dry mixture. Add flour a little at a time till it gets to the right consistency. You don’t want it too sticky but you also don’t want it to heavy. Allow to rise double in size. Bake at 350 degrees for 15-20 minutes or until you get the coloring you want. Use this for rolls, buns, loafs, pizza crust, or pig in a blankets. Enjoy and I hope it takes to back to your school days.

Ingredients
2 cups quick-cooking oats
1 3/4 cups firmly packed light brown sugar1 1/2 cups All Purpose Flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 cup butter
1/2 cup chopped peanuts
1 cup (6 oz. pkg.) semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 large egg, beaten
1 (14 oz.) can Sweetened Condensed Milk
1/2 cup Creamy Peanut Butter Directions
HEAT oven to 350°F. Combine oats, brown sugar, flour, baking powder and baking soda in large bowl. Cut in butter with pastry blender or 2 knives until mixture resembles fine crumbs. Stir in peanuts.
RESERVE 1 1/2 cups crumb mixture. Stir egg into remaining crumb mixture. Press onto bottom of 13 x 9-inch baking pan.
BAKE 15 minutes.
STIR together sweetened condensed milk and peanut butter in small bowl until well combined. Pour evenly over partially baked crust.
STIR together reserved crumb mixture and chocolate chips. Sprinkle evenly over peanut butter layer.
BAKE an additional 15 minutes. Cool. Cut into bars.

This easy to follow recipe makes the best homemade pancakes. These pancakes are light and fluffy, with just a hint of sweetness. Ingredients:
3/4 cup milk
2 tablespoons white vinegar (see note)
1 cup all purpose flour
2 tablespoons white sugar (I used 3)
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 egg
2 tablespoons melted butter
1 teaspoon vanilla

Combine the milk and vinegar in a small bowl for 10 minutes to “sour”. This is an important step and it is called “soured milk” which is much different that sour milk. I guarantee you will NOT taste the vinegar in the final product. Set aside.
Combine the dry ingredients in a bowl. In a smaller bowl, whisk the soured milk, egg, vanilla and melted butter together. Pour into the dry ingredients and whisk until most of the lumps are gone, but DO NOT OVER BEAT!!

Ingredients 3 tablespoons milk
3 tablespoons boiling water
1 teaspoon dry active yeast
8 ounces all-purpose flour ( a little under 2 cups, I recommend you measure and weigh)
1 1/2 ounces sugar (about 3 tablespoons)
1 egg
1 ounce butter, cold to room temperature
1 dash salt

2 cups confectioners’ sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
4 tablespoons hot water ( or as needed)

Ingredients:
2-1/2 cups whole milk
2-1/2 cups light brown sugar
2-1/2 cups sugar
2-1/2 cups pecans, lightly chopped
4 ounces real butter
2 teaspoons vanilla extract OR 2 teaspoons maple extract
pinch salt
Instructions:
Warm milk in a cast-iron dutch oven or a large pot.
Add sugar, brown sugar and a pinch of salt.
Cook until it reaches 240 degrees (soft-ball stage
Stir almost constantly to prevent sticking and burning. If the candy burns, you have to start over. If you are using a thermometer attached to the side of the pot, make sure that it does not sit on the bottom of the pot. You will not get an accurate reading.
Once the candy reaches 240 degrees, remove from the heat.
Next add, the butter, vanilla, maple extract, and the pecans.
Allow the candy to sit 10 minutes.
Next, stir the candy 25 to 50 strokes to incorporate the pecans.
Spoon the candy about 1 to 2 TB size onto a sheet of wax paper.

HOW TO MAKE NO-BAKE OREO DELIGHT

Ingredients 1 pkg of regular oreos
8 oz cream cheese softened
1 large pkg chocolate instant pudding
6 T melted butter
16 oz cool whip
1 c powdered sugar
2 ¾ c milk
Crush cookies
Save about 1 c to sprinkle on top Directions:
In small bowl mix remaining crumbs with butter
Press crumbs/butter mixture into bottom of a 9 x 13 cake pan to form crust
Make chocolate pudding according to package directions and let it set up in the fridge
Using electric mixer, mix half cool whip, softened cream cheese and powdered sugar in large bowl
Spread the cool whip/cc/sugar mixture on top of the oreo crust
Spread the pudding over the cool whip layer, then the remaining layer of the cool whip mixture on top of that
Refrigerate until ready to serve..

INGREDIENTS :
4 cups all purpose flour
1 tablespoon baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons powdered milk
1 1/2 cups warm water
1 cup shortening
Extra flour to flour your hands

INSTRUCTIONS :

Put flour in bowl, add baking powder, salt and powdered milk.
Mix in warm water to form dough.
Cover hands in flour
Knead dough by hand until soft but not sticky. Cover with a cloth and let stand for 15 minutes.
Shape dough into balls about 2 inches across then flatten by patting and stretching the dough.
Melt shortening about an inch deep in frying pan. When hot put dough in pan. Fry one side till golden brown, then turn and fry the other.
Can be topped with honey, powdered sugar, etc. You can also make it savory by topping with cooked sausage, or fried egg…. Enjoy!
